This course in corporate finance will focus on how companies invest in real assets and how they raise the money for these investments. It will cover the theory and evidence concerning major corporate financial policy decisions. This course provides opportunities for students, having acquired the knowledge of finance, operations, marketing, human resource management, to apply and integrate such knowledge into real practice through the creation of their own business plans. Students will be exposed to a wide range of topics, divided into four main parts, namely, (i) decision to become an entrepreneur, (ii) developing successful business ideas, (iii) moving from an idea to an entrepreneurial firm; and (iv) managing and growing an entrepreneurial firm.
Prerequisites: ACC 1001, FIN 3010, MKTG 3010
